The Raconteurs @ Stubb's
Ever since White Stripes frontman Jack White joined forces with Nashville singer-songwriter Brendan Benson and later recruited Greenhornes alumni Patrick Keeler and Jack Lawrence, the Raconteurs have threatened to overshadow the members’ previous projects. The supergroup formed as an accidental side-project in 2005 after White and Benson collaborated on the song “Steady, As She Goes,” which inspired the conception of the group and later went on to be the Raconteurs’ first single off their debut album “Broken Boy Soldiers.” After the album was released in 2006, the Raconteurs embarked on a popular international tour (even playing eight dates with Bob Dylan — an unheard of feat for an emerging band) and went on to be nominated for two Grammys. Tonight, the Raconteurs appear at Stubb’s in support of their sophomore effort, “Consolers of the Lonely.” Birds of Avalon open. (They play Saturday, too.)
